3. Consent for DVD Compliance Checks
NSW Driver Vehicle Database (DVD) compliance
By registering as an Angel Driver and ticking the consent checkbox during registration, you expressly acknowledge and provide consent that:
- Angelift Pty Ltd, operating as an Authorised Service Provider (ASP) under NSW Point to Point Transport legislation, is authorised to access the NSW Driver Vehicle Database (DVD) to verify your driver credentials and vehicle registration status on a regular basis through the NSW Point to Point DVD Portal.
- Angelift aims to review DVD records regularly and proactively. These checks are currently performed manually and may occur daily, weekly, monthly, or within 90-day review cycles depending on onboarding stage, operational needs, risk triggers, and compliance priorities.
- This consent is provided in accordance with the State Records Act 1998 (NSW) and all applicable privacy legislation
- Angelift will maintain hard copies or electronic versions of driver consent forms for a period of six (6) years for current and past drivers
- If your application is incomplete and you do not proceed with the ASP onboarding, your consent form and personal information will be destroyed after six (6) months in accordance with NSW compliance requirements
- You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting [email protected], however this will result in immediate deactivation from the platform
4. Your Liability
You are 100% liable for any damage, accident, or claim arising from your driving.
Angelift™ accepts NO liability. If you are at fault, you pay the insurance excess of up to $1,500 + any uninsured loss.
Liability Boundaries — En Route & Post Drop-off
Angelift™ is not liable for any incident, accident, damage, injury, or loss that occurs before client pickup or after client drop-off.
- En route to pickup: Any incident that occurs while you are travelling to the client's pickup address is solely your responsibility. If you are driving the client's vehicle during this leg, any claims are between your insurance and the client's vehicle insurance. Angelift is not a party to these claims.
- After drop-off: Any incident that occurs after the client has been dropped off at their destination — including your return journey — is solely your responsibility. Angelift's involvement in the trip ends at client drop-off.
- Guardian Angel (Driver B): If you are the Guardian Angel, you drive your own vehicle at all times. Any incident involving your vehicle at any point — en route, during the trip, or after — is between your own insurance and the other party's insurer.
- Insurance liaison: It is your responsibility and the client's responsibility to liaise with your respective insurance companies directly. Angelift will provide trip data, GPS logs, and any available evidence to insurance companies and/or authorities as required.
5. Your Vehicle & Insurance (YOUR RESPONSIBILITY)
Insurance is to be liaised between you (the subcontractor) and the client directly. Angelift™ is just the technology platform.
- You must hold comprehensive insurance covering commercial passenger transport use
- You pay the insurance excess of up to $1,500 if you are at fault and damage a client's vehicle
- You pay for any uninsured loss, cleaning, or downtime
- You liaise directly with the client regarding insurance claims
- Angelift™ will assist where further evidence is required (e.g., Trip Start Location, Incident Location, Enroute Destination) to the best of its ability
6. Angelift™ Dual-Driver Operations
PRE-BOOKING ONLY — DUAL-DRIVER MODEL
Angelift operates a pre-booking only service (minimum 2 hours before pickup). There are no instant/on-demand bookings. Every trip involves up to two drivers working together:
- Angel Driver (Driver A): Drives the client's vehicle from pickup to destination
- Guardian Angel (Driver B): Drives their own vehicle directly to the client's drop-off location. The Guardian Angel does NOT follow the Angel Driver through the trip — they navigate independently to the destination area so they are ready to collect the Angel Driver after the client is dropped off
- Solo Trips: If no Guardian Angel is available, the rider may accept a solo driver trip. The Angel Driver receives 45% of the driver pool and the platform arranges return transport
Operational Requirements
- Document vehicle condition pre/post trip with 4-angle photos (upload instantly via the app)
- Exchange 4-digit security verification codes with the rider before starting the trip (both rider and driver receive codes that must be confirmed)
- Drive lawfully, defensively, and on the agreed route
- Return vehicle in same or better condition
- Maintain professional conduct and presentation at all times
Guardian Angel Routing
The Guardian Angel's navigation is managed by the platform:
- Default behaviour: The Guardian Angel navigates directly to the client's drop-off location, arriving ahead of the Angel Driver where possible.
- Platform instruction only: If the app or Command Center issues a specific exception instruction, follow that instruction. Otherwise, do not shadow the Angel Driver through the trip.
- Mid-trip joins: If a Guardian Angel is matched after the trip has started, they navigate directly to the drop-off location.
- Convergence model: Both drivers meet at the client's destination so the Guardian Angel can collect the Angel Driver after drop-off.
Route Compliance & Safety Monitoring
You must follow the route provided by Angelift via the in-app navigation (Google Maps).
Angelift uses live GPS tracking and route monitoring to protect riders. During active trips, your location is continuously compared against the route provided to you. This applies to both the client trip and the Angel Driver return trip.
- Follow the provided route: You must follow the navigation route given to you in the Angelift app. Minor traffic detours are acceptable, but significant deviations will trigger a rider safety check
- Route deviation alerts: If you deviate more than 500 metres from the planned route for a sustained period, the rider will receive an automated safety check notification asking if they are safe
- Prolonged unexplained stops: Stopping for more than 5 minutes at a location that is not the pickup or destination will also trigger a rider safety check
- Destination changes: If the rider or circumstances require a route or destination change, it must be done through the Angelift app's "Change Destination" feature so the fare recalculates automatically and the new route is tracked. Do not agree to off-app route changes
- Consequences of non-compliance: Repeated or unexplained route deviations may result in:
- A formal warning and route compliance review
- Temporary suspension pending investigation
- Permanent deactivation for serious or repeated violations
- Referral to law enforcement if rider safety is compromised
- GPS signal loss: If you experience GPS signal loss (e.g., tunnels, parking garages), the system accounts for this — brief signal interruptions will not trigger false alerts
6A. Your Right to End a Trip
You reserve the right to end a trip at any time if you feel unsafe or uncomfortable.
Your safety is paramount. You may decline to start or choose to discontinue a trip at any point if you reasonably feel unsafe or uncomfortable. This may include but is not limited to situations involving:
- Excessive alcohol consumption by the client or passengers
- Smoking, vaping, or drug use in the vehicle
- Aggressive, threatening, abusive, or harassing behaviour
- Requests to break road rules, speed, or engage in unsafe driving practices
- Any other situation you reasonably consider unsafe, threatening, or inappropriate
If you end a trip for safety reasons:
- You will not be penalised or deactivated for exercising this right in good faith
- The client will be charged for the distance already travelled
- You must report the incident via the in-app incident report feature as soon as it is safe to do so
- Pull over in a safe location before ending the trip — do not stop in a dangerous position
Angelift fully supports drivers in exercising this right. Repeated or fraudulent misuse of this right (e.g., ending trips to avoid long-distance fares) may be investigated.
7. Assistance Animals — Legal Requirement (NSW)
Mandatory compliance under NSW law: Under the Companion Animals Act 1998 (NSW) and Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth), you cannot refuse to transport passengers with assistance animals.
- You MUST accept all trips where the passenger is accompanied by an accredited assistance animal (guide dog, hearing dog, or other trained assistance animal)
- No additional charges may be imposed for passengers with assistance animals
- No discrimination: You cannot refuse service, provide inferior service, or treat passengers less favourably because they have an assistance animal
- Penalties: Refusing to transport an assistance animal is a criminal offence in NSW with significant fines. You may also face civil action under federal discrimination law
- Allergies are not an excuse: Under NSW law, allergies or personal preferences are not valid reasons to refuse transport of an assistance animal
- Accredited animals: Assistance animals must be accredited under NSW or equivalent state law and may wear an identifying coat or harness
- Documentation: Handlers may carry documentation proving their animal's accreditation, but are not legally required to show it
- Platform enforcement: Refusal to transport assistance animals will result in immediate investigation and may lead to permanent deactivation from the Angelift platform, in addition to any legal consequences
For more information, visit Service NSW - Assistance Animals
8. Accidents, Fines & Claims (YOU PAY)
- You are liable for all fines, tolls, parking, speeding, and traffic infringements
- Report all accidents within 1 hour (per TfNSW requirements under s24 of the P2P Act)
- You handle all claims with the client and your insurer directly
- Angelift™ may deduct costs from your payout if you cause damage
- Failure to report accidents may result in immediate deactivation and legal action
9. Fare Structure, Earnings & Commission
Fare Calculation
All fares are calculated automatically by the platform based on distance, rider-leg time, driver return distance, and applicable fees:
| Component | Rate | Goes To |
| Trip base (no free km; per-km on full rider leg) | $49.00 | Split pool |
| Per km (rider leg) | $2.50 | Core ride fare |
| Time charge (pickup to final drop-off only) | $0.80/min | Split pool |
| Driver Return | $1.50/km | Split pool |
| Selected Sydney or Melbourne CBD pickups: Inner-City Access Fee | $19.95 | Split pool |
| Angelift Service Fee | $9.95 | Platform only |
| Passenger Levy | $1.20 | Platform only |
| CTP Levy | $0.10/km | Platform only |
Surge pricing multipliers may apply during peak demand periods.
Platform Fee & Driver Pool
The platform retains 30% commission on the split pool. The remaining 70% is the driver pool. The split pool includes base fare, distance, rider-leg time, driver return, Inner-City Access, wait time, and additional stops. Angelift Service Fee, Passenger Levy, and CTP go directly to the platform and are not included in the driver pool.
Selected Sydney or Melbourne CBD pickups may include an Inner-City Access Fee. This fee applies to pickups within 3km of the relevant service anchor (635 George Street, Haymarket for Sydney; 328 Swanston Street, Melbourne VIC 3000 for Melbourne) due to parking and access restrictions and is included in the split pool.
Driver Earnings Split
| Trip Type | Angel Driver (A) | Guardian Angel (B) |
| Standard Trip (Dual Driver) | 45% of driver pool | 55% of driver pool |
| Multi-Stop Trip | 65% of driver pool | 35% of driver pool |
| Solo Trip (Initial) | 45% of driver pool | N/A — held for return transport |
| Solo Trip (Fallback) | 45% + 60% of driver pool | N/A — added to your earnings |
The Guardian Angel receives a higher share on standard trips because they use their own vehicle and fuel. On multi-stop trips, the Angel Driver receives more because they handle all stops and the additional driving, while the Guardian Angel only drives the return leg.
Solo Trip Return Transport
If no Guardian Angel is available for your trip:
- You initially receive 45% of the driver pool (your standard Angel Driver share)
- The Angelift Command Center will arrange a return driver for you before you complete the drop-off
- If no return driver can be arranged, the Guardian Angel share (60% of the driver pool) is automatically added to your earnings to cover your return trip
- Any leftover funds after your return journey are yours to keep
Wait Time Earnings
- 8 minutes free grace period at pickup
- After 8 minutes: $0.60 per minute
- Wait time charges form part of the rider trip fare and are included in the normal split pool
- Auto-cancel triggers after 15 minutes of no-show (extendable to 20 minutes via driver toggle)
Tips
- Drivers receive 80% of tips. The platform retains 20%
- On dual-driver trips, the driver share is split proportionally between both drivers (45/55 standard, 65/35 multi-stop)
Rider promotions & account credits
From time to time, riders may receive promotions or account credits that reduce what they pay. Unless a specific campaign clearly states otherwise, Angelift typically funds these rider-facing amounts for the purpose of the core ride fare split and commission calculation, meaning your share of the driver pool is based on the underlying trip fare before the rider’s promotional discount (subject to the same platform-only fees and rules described above). Campaign terms may vary; check in-app notices for any offer that works differently.
Multi-Stop Extras
- $4.95 surcharge per additional stop
- $2.50/km for extra distance between stops
- $0.60/min wait time at intermediate stops
Cancellation Compensation
When a rider cancels, the cancellation fee is tiered based on how close to pickup time:
| Time Before Pickup | Rider Fee |
| 2+ hours | Free (no fee) |
| 1-2 hours | $20 |
| 30-60 minutes | $35 |
| 15-30 minutes | $50 |
| Under 15 minutes / no-show | $69 (full base fare) |
You receive 70% of the cancellation fee (30% to platform). The fee is split between all assigned drivers on the booking.
Penalties
- Driver A no-show at pickup: $30 deduction from the absent Angel Driver's earnings. The rider receives a $20 credit, and the Guardian Angel receives $10 only if they had already started.
- Late arrival at destination (15+ min): $0.60/min charged to the late driver
Payouts
- All fares must be processed via Angelift™ platform only
- No cash payments, no off-platform deals — results in instant and permanent ban
- Weekly automated payouts: Processed every Friday with a $50 minimum balance
- Manual payout requests: Available anytime with a $10 minimum (or your custom preference)
- Payouts are processed via Stripe Connect to your linked bank account
- You are responsible for your own tax obligations, including GST if registered
Founding Angel Drivers (First 88)
- Preferred Partners perk (+1% each when matched together)
- Priority Matching for available bookings
- Permanent Founder Badge in the app
10. Prohibition of Off-Platform Agreements
Zero tolerance policy: Off-platform arrangements are strictly prohibited and result in permanent banning.
- All bookings must be made through the Angelift platform. Soliciting or accepting direct bookings from clients met through Angelift is strictly prohibited
- No exchanging of personal contact details (phone numbers, social media, email) with clients for the purpose of arranging future rides outside the platform
- No private payment arrangements including cash, bank transfer, or any payment method outside the Angelift payment system
- No undercutting platform fares by offering clients "cheaper" rates for off-platform rides
- Violation consequences: Permanent ban from the platform, forfeiture of any pending payouts, and potential legal action for breach of contract
- This protects you: Off-platform trips have no insurance coverage, no GPS tracking, no emergency support, and expose you to significant personal liability
11. Rider Audio Recording — Important Notice
Riders may record audio during trips
By accepting bookings through Angelift, you acknowledge and agree that:
Rider Recording Rights
- Riders may record: The Angelift Rider App includes an audio recording feature that allows riders to record audio during their trip for personal safety purposes
- No notification required: Under NSW law (Surveillance Devices Act 2007, Section 7), riders are NOT required to notify you when they are recording because they are a party to the conversation
- Legal basis: This is known as "one-party consent" — a person may lawfully record a private conversation they are participating in
- Stored on rider's device: Recordings are stored locally on the rider's phone, NOT automatically shared with Angelift
- May be used as evidence: If a rider files an incident report, they may attach audio recordings as evidence to support their claim
Why This Matters To You
- Professionalism: Always maintain professional conduct during trips — audio recordings may be used as evidence in disputes
- Your protection: Audio recordings can also protect YOU from false accusations, as they provide an objective record of what occurred
- Assume recording: For your protection, assume that any trip MAY be recorded and conduct yourself accordingly
Your Recording Rights
As a driver, you also have the legal right to record your trips under the same one-party consent principle:
- Built-in app recording: The Angelift Driver App includes an audio recording feature you can use during active trips. Recordings are stored securely in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) on your device only and are never uploaded unless you attach them to an incident report
- You may also use a dashcam with audio recording
- You may use your own recording app on your phone
- Recordings must be for legitimate safety and evidence purposes
- You should inform passengers if you have an active dashcam recording (recommended best practice)
NSW Legal Framework
The Surveillance Devices Act 2007 (NSW) permits recording of private conversations when:
- The person recording is a principal party to the conversation (Section 7(1)(a)), OR
- Recording is reasonably necessary to protect the lawful interests of a party (Section 7(3)(b))
Personal safety during transport is a recognised lawful interest under NSW law.
12. Referral Program (Founder Launch Period)
- Earn $500 for each driver you refer who completes 10 trips within 3 months
- Maximum of $1,500 can be earned per driver during the Founder Launch Period
13. Platform Acknowledgements
By registering as an Angel Driver, you expressly acknowledge and agree that:
- Angelift™ is a technology platform only that connects drivers with clients

- All insurance matters are between you and the client directly
- You are responsible for your own work health and safety
- You are responsible for ensuring you meet all legal requirements to operate as a passenger transport driver
14. Termination
- Angelift™ may deactivate your account immediately for safety concerns, damage to client property, off-platform activity, or breach of these terms
- You may terminate your subcontractor arrangement at any time by providing written notice
- Upon termination, Founding Drivers lose all founder benefits and any pending referral bonuses
- Outstanding payments will be processed in the next payment cycle, less any amounts owed to Angelift or clients

- Incomplete applications where the driver does not proceed are destroyed after six (6) months
- GPS location trails: Retained for 12 months and then automatically deleted

- All records are maintained in accordance with the State Records Act 1998 (NSW), the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) including the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and the Privacy and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2024 (Cth)
16. Privacy & Data Protection
Angelift complies with the following privacy legislation:
- Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs)
- Privacy and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2024 (Cth) — including the statutory tort for serious invasions of privacy, enhanced OAIC enforcement powers, and the criminal offence of doxxing
- State Records Act 1998 (NSW) for driver compliance records
- Surveillance Devices Act 2007 (NSW) for in-trip audio recordings
Angelift discloses the main categories of automated decision-support used by the platform in its Privacy Policy and will update that disclosure as the law or product changes.
17. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the Angelift platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
18. Consent & Acknowledgement

- You have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Angel Driver Terms & Conditions
- You acknowledge that you are registering as an independent subcontractor, not an employee
- You provide express consent for Angelift Pty Ltd, operating as an Authorised Service Provider (ASP), to access the NSW Driver Vehicle Database (DVD) to verify your driver credentials for NSW compliance purposes
- You acknowledge that Angelift aims to conduct these DVD checks regularly and proactively, currently on a manual basis, with review frequency that may range from daily, weekly, monthly, or 90-day intervals depending on compliance needs
- You acknowledge that this consent is provided in accordance with the State Records Act 1998 (NSW)
- You understand that Angelift will maintain hard copies or electronic versions of your consent forms and driver documentation for a period of six (6) years for current and past drivers
- You understand that if your application is incomplete and you do not proceed with ASP onboarding, your consent forms and personal information will be destroyed after six (6) months in accordance with NSW compliance requirements
- You confirm that you hold a valid unrestricted NSW driver licence with the PT (Passenger Transport) authority code, or will obtain one before commencing work
- You confirm that you have held an unrestricted licence for at least 12 months within the past 4 years
- You understand that providing false or misleading information may result in immediate deactivation and potential legal action
19. Pricing, Commission & Earnings Addendum
Commission & Earnings
Angelift charges a Services Fee (commission) of 30% on the trip fare for all standard dual-driver bookings. The Services Fee is subject to change at Angelift's discretion with 14 days written notice to active drivers.
The Angelift Services Fee (commission) does not apply to certain additional fees and levies payable by riders that Angelift is wholly entitled to, including: the Angelift Service & Booking Fee ($9.95), Passenger Levy ($1.20), Compulsory Third Party Insurance (CTP) levy ($0.10/km), Cancellation Fees, and any other statutory or platform fee imposed by Angelift from time to time. These amounts are retained by Angelift and are not included in the calculation of driver earnings.
Of the 70% driver share of the trip fare after platform fee extraction: Angel Driver (Driver A) receives 45% of the driver share and Guardian Angel (Driver B) receives 55% of the driver share. Angelift reserves the right to adjust these percentages with 14 days written notice to active drivers.
Pricing & Platform Changes
Angelift reserves the right to change the fare structure, base rates, surcharge amounts, commission percentage, driver earnings split, and any other component of the pricing model at any time. For changes that reduce driver earnings by more than 5%, Angelift will provide 14 days written notice via the driver app or registered email address.
Subcontractor Status & Earnings
Angelift does not guarantee any minimum number of bookings, trip frequency, or earnings. Driver earnings depend on trip volume, trip distance, time of day, and applicable surcharges. Past earnings are not indicative of future earnings.
Drivers operate as independent contractors, not employees of Angelift. Drivers are responsible for their own tax obligations including GST registration (if applicable), income tax, and superannuation. Angelift will provide earnings summaries via the driver app to assist with tax reporting.
All drivers must hold a valid Australian Business Number (ABN) and provide it to Angelift prior to activation. Drivers without a valid ABN may be subject to withholding tax deductions as required by the Australian Taxation Office.
General Pricing Changes
Angelift may introduce, modify, or remove any fee, levy, surcharge, or pricing component at any time. New or modified fees will be communicated via the Angelift app. Continued use of the platform after the effective date of any pricing change constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
