Angelift™ Client Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: March 21, 2026 | Last Updated: March 22, 2026
Important: Angelift™ is a technology platform connecting you with independent Angel Driver subcontractors. We are not a transport provider and not an insurance provider.
Angelift™ connects you with independent Angel Drivers (subcontractors). We are a booking platform only — not a transport provider.
If an Angelift subcontractor is at fault, the driver pays the insurance excess of up to $1,500, plus any uninsured loss.
Angelift™ is not liable for driver negligence.
1. Service Overview
Pre-booking only, dual-driver model.
Angelift is a pre-booking only substitute driver service operating within a 25km radius of Sydney CBD. There are no instant or on-demand bookings — all trips must be scheduled at least 2 hours in advance.
How the Dual-Driver Model Works
Every Angelift trip involves up to two drivers working together to get you and your car home safely:
- Angel Driver (Driver A): Drives your vehicle with you as the passenger from your pickup location to your destination
- Guardian Angel (Driver B): Drives their own vehicle directly to your destination to collect the Angel Driver after you are dropped off. The Guardian Angel does NOT follow your car through the trip — they navigate independently to the drop-off area for efficiency
- Solo Trip Option: If no Guardian Angel is available, you may be offered a solo driver trip. The Angel Driver will still drive your car to your destination and the platform will arrange their return transport separately
Security Code Exchange
For your safety, both you and your driver(s) receive a unique 4-digit security verification code when a driver is matched to your booking. Before the trip starts:
- You show your code to the driver and the driver shows their code to you
- Both codes must be confirmed in the app before the trip can begin
- Never get into the vehicle until codes are exchanged and verified
2. Your Insurance Responsibility
It is the client's responsibility to ensure their insurance covers unnominated drivers.
- Your vehicle must have valid CTP insurance (Green Slip) covering non-nominated drivers
- Your comprehensive insurance must permit substitute driver services
- We recommend AAMI Insurance as they cover substitute driver services
- You must verify coverage with your insurer before booking
3. Vehicle Ownership & Authority
Important: By using Angelift, you confirm and warrant that:
- Registered Owner: You are the registered owner of the vehicle, OR you have explicit written permission from the owner to use Angelift services
- Lawful Possession: The vehicle is lawfully in your possession and is NOT stolen, subject to finance disputes, or under any legal encumbrance that would prevent its use
- Authority to Permit Driving: You have the legal authority to permit another person (our Angel Driver) to drive the vehicle
Misrepresentation of ownership or authority is a serious offence and may result in immediate account termination and referral to law enforcement.
4. Vehicle Requirements & Roadworthiness
Before booking, you confirm and warrant that your vehicle meets ALL of these requirements:
- Roadworthy: The vehicle is in safe, roadworthy condition with functioning brakes, lights, tyres, steering, and all essential safety systems
- Registered: Current and valid vehicle registration in Australia
- Insured: Valid comprehensive insurance that covers substitute/unnominated drivers
- Legally Compliant: The vehicle meets all Australian road safety standards and is legally permitted to be driven on public roads
- Fueled/Charged: Sufficient fuel or battery charge for the journey
- Standard Vehicles Only: Sedan, SUV, 4WD, hatchback, wagon, or similar passenger vehicle
- No Defects: No known mechanical defects that could pose a safety risk
You remain liable for fines/tolls unless directly caused by driver negligence. Driver documents vehicle condition pre/post trip via photos — disputes are resolved via these photos.
Additional Charges: If the driver needs to refuel/charge your vehicle or perform additional tasks, a standard hourly rate of $88/hour + $5 platform administration fee applies.
5. Safety & Behavior
- Seatbelts mandatory: All occupants must wear seatbelts at all times during the trip. Under NSW law, the driver is legally responsible for ensuring all passengers are wearing seatbelts
- No illegal items: You must not carry any prohibited or illegal items in the vehicle during a trip
- No abuse: Verbal, physical, or any form of abuse, harassment, or threatening behaviour toward drivers will result in an instant and permanent ban from the platform
- No smoking, vaping, or drug use: Smoking, vaping, and the use of any illicit substances inside the vehicle during a trip is strictly prohibited
- No alcohol consumption: Open containers of alcohol and drinking during the trip are not permitted under P2P transport regulations
Driver's Right to Decline or End a Trip
Angel Drivers reserve the right to decline or discontinue a trip at any time if they feel uncomfortable or unsafe for any reason.
This includes but is not limited to situations involving:
- Excessive alcohol consumption by the client or passengers
- Smoking, vaping, or drug use in the vehicle
- Aggressive, threatening, or abusive behaviour
- Requests to break road rules or engage in unsafe driving practices
- Unroadworthy vehicle or registration mismatch
- Any other situation the driver reasonably considers unsafe or uncomfortable
If a driver ends a trip for safety reasons, you will be charged for the distance already travelled. Angelift fully supports drivers in exercising this right and no penalty will be applied to the driver.
Route Safety Monitoring
Your trip may be actively monitored for safety.
During your trip, Angelift continuously monitors your driver's route using live GPS tracking. This system is designed to protect you:
- Route deviation detection: If your driver deviates significantly from the planned route, you will receive an in-app safety check notification asking if you are safe
- Prolonged stop alerts: If the vehicle is stopped for an extended period at an unexpected location, you will also receive a safety check
- How to respond: Tap "I'm OK" if everything is fine, or "I Need Help" to access emergency options including calling 000 and Angelift Support
- Automatic escalation: If you do not respond to a safety check within 2 minutes, emergency SOS options will be displayed automatically
Changing Your Destination
If you need to change your destination during a trip:
- Use the in-app destination change feature: Tap "Change Destination" in the active trip screen. This automatically recalculates your fare and updates the driver's navigation route
- Do not request verbal route changes: Asking a driver to deviate from the navigation without updating the destination in-app may trigger a safety alert and will result in inaccurate fare calculation
- Fare adjustment: When you change your destination through the app, the fare is recalculated automatically. If the new fare exceeds the original authorisation, a new payment hold will be placed on your card
- Driver compliance: Drivers are required to follow the route given to them via the Angelift app. If you believe a driver is not following the correct route without good reason, use the safety check or SOS features
6. Fare Structure & Pricing
Transparent pricing. You see the estimated fare before you book.
Fares are calculated automatically based on distance, rider-leg time, driver return distance, and applicable fees:
| Component | Rate |
| Trip base (minimum) | $49.00 |
| Per km (full rider leg) | $2.50 |
| Time charge (pickup to final drop-off only) | $0.80/min |
| Return trip per km | $1.50 |
| Selected Sydney or Melbourne CBD pickups: Inner-City Access Fee | $19.95 |
| Angelift Service Fee | $9.95 |
| Passenger Levy | $1.20 |
| CTP Levy | $0.10/km |
Selected Sydney or Melbourne CBD pickups may include an Inner-City Access Fee. This fee applies to pickups within 3km of the relevant service anchor (635 George Street, Haymarket for Sydney; 328 Swanston Street, Melbourne VIC 3000 for Melbourne) due to parking and access restrictions and is shown in your fare breakdown before you confirm your booking.
Surge pricing multipliers may apply during peak demand periods.
Payment Authorisation
- When you book, an authorisation hold is placed on your payment card for the estimated fare plus a 20% buffer to cover potential wait time, stops, or route changes
- This is a hold, not a charge — the actual amount captured will be the final calculated fare after your trip is completed
- If the final fare is less than the hold, the excess is automatically released back to your card
- If the final fare exceeds the authorisation (e.g., significant destination change), a separate charge will be made for the difference
Promotions, credits & pricing
Angelift may offer promotions, referral incentives, account credits, or other rider-facing discounts from time to time. Availability, value, eligibility, and expiry may vary by campaign, region, user, and trip type, and may be changed or withdrawn without notice unless a specific offer states otherwise.
Unless an offer expressly states that drivers’ earnings are reduced by a rider discount, rider promotions and account credits are typically funded by Angelift so that the rider pays the discounted amount while driver earnings for the core ride fare are calculated consistently with the underlying trip fare (before the rider-facing discount). This aligns rider savings with fair treatment of drivers and may differ for specific campaigns where clearly disclosed.
Nothing in this section limits Angelift’s right to adjust fares, fees, or commercial terms as described elsewhere in these Terms.
Multi-Stop Trips
If your trip includes additional stops:
- $4.95 surcharge per additional stop
- $2.50/km for extra distance between stops
- $0.60/min wait time at intermediate stops
7. Cancellation & No-Show Fees
Cancellation fees are tiered based on how close to your scheduled pickup time you cancel:
| When You Cancel | Fee |
| 2+ hours before pickup | Free (no fee) |
| 1-2 hours before pickup | $20 |
| 30-60 minutes before pickup | $35 |
| 15-30 minutes before pickup | $50 |
| Under 15 minutes before pickup | $69 (full base fare) |
- No-show fee (driver assigned or arrived): Once a driver has been assigned to your booking — and especially once they have arrived at the pickup point — your trip is treated as committed. If you fail to arrive, do not respond, or cannot be located after the driver has waited the maximum wait time at pickup (default 15 minutes, extensible to 20 minutes), you will be charged the full booked fare for the trip (the same amount you would have paid had the trip gone ahead). This reflects that the driver(s) have already been routed, paid out, and prevented from accepting other work for that scheduled window.
- No-show fee (no driver yet assigned): If the booking is cancelled as a no-show before any driver was assigned, the flat $69 minimum no-show fee applies instead of the full fare.
- Wait time charges: The first 8 minutes of waiting at pickup are free. After 8 minutes, $0.60 per minute applies until you arrive, until the driver / Angelift Command Center elects to cancel as a no-show, or until the maximum wait threshold is reached.
- Cancellation confirmation: Once the maximum wait time is reached at pickup, the trip will not auto-cancel silently — the driver and Angelift Command Center are prompted to confirm the no-show before any cancellation fee is charged. You will receive notifications throughout this window so you can respond.
- Driver A no-show: If your assigned Angel Driver does not arrive, you may report a no-show after 10 minutes. A $20 Angelift credit is added to your account. If a Guardian Angel was already assigned, they may be promoted to Angel Driver while the platform searches for a replacement Guardian Angel.
All payments are processed securely through the Angelift™ platform only.
8. Prohibition of Off-Platform Agreements
Important: All bookings must be made through the Angelift platform.
- No off-platform arrangements: Attempting to hire an Angel Driver directly (bypassing the platform) is strictly prohibited and will result in permanent account suspension
- No private payments: All payments must go through the Angelift platform. Cash payments or bank transfers directly to drivers are prohibited
- No contact exchange for bookings: Exchanging personal contact details with drivers for the purpose of arranging future off-platform rides is not permitted
- Why this matters: Off-platform trips have no GPS tracking, no emergency support, no insurance coverage verification, and no dispute resolution. This rule protects you
- Drivers are protected: Drivers found engaging in off-platform activity will be permanently banned. If a driver solicits you for off-platform work, please report them immediately
9. In-Trip Audio Recording (Your Right to Record)
Your safety is our priority.
The Angelift Rider App includes an audio recording feature for your personal safety during trips:
Your Recording Rights
- Your choice: You can start and stop audio recording at any time during an active trip using the recording button in the app
- Stored on your device only: Recordings are saved securely in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) on your phone. Angelift does not automatically receive or store your recordings. Note: clearing your browser data may delete recordings
- You control your recordings: You can play back, keep, or delete recordings at any time from your device
- Attach to incident reports: If you need to file an incident report, you can choose to attach your recordings as evidence
- No driver notification required: Under NSW law, you do not need to notify the driver that you are recording (see legal basis below)
NSW Legal Basis
Your right to record is protected under the Surveillance Devices Act 2007 (NSW):
- One-party consent: Section 7 permits recording a private conversation when you are a party to that conversation. As the rider in the vehicle, you are a party to all conversations during your trip
- Protection of lawful interests: Section 7(3)(b) permits recording when "reasonably necessary" to protect your lawful interests — personal safety during transport is a recognised lawful interest
- Not surveillance: Recording your own trip for safety purposes is NOT considered unlawful surveillance under NSW law
Driver Acknowledgement
All Angel Drivers have agreed in their Driver Terms & Conditions that riders may record audio during trips for personal safety. By accepting a booking through Angelift, drivers acknowledge this possibility.
Using Recordings as Evidence
- Incident reports: If you experience any issues during your trip, you can attach your audio recordings when filing an incident report
- Dispute resolution: Recordings may be used as evidence in disputes regarding driver conduct, route taken, or fare disagreements
- Law enforcement: You may provide your recordings to police if you choose to report an incident
- Privacy of recordings: When you attach a recording to an incident report, it is stored securely by Angelift, accessed only by compliance staff investigating the incident, and deleted after 90 days unless required for ongoing legal proceedings
10. Insurance & Liability
Angelift™ is a technology platform. Insurance matters are to be liaised between the subcontractor and the client directly.
- Client Responsibility: Ensure your insurance covers unnominated drivers (we recommend AAMI Insurance)
- Driver Pays Excess: If the Angelift Subcontractor is at fault, they pay the insurance excess of up to $1,500
- Direct Liaison: Insurance matters are between you and the subcontractor directly
- Angelift Assistance: We will assist where further evidence is required (e.g., Trip Start Location, Incident Location, Enroute Destination) at our best ability
Liability Boundaries — En Route & Post Drop-off
Important: Angelift™ is not liable for any incident, accident, damage, injury, or loss that occurs:
- Before pickup: While the Angel Driver (or Guardian Angel) is travelling to your pickup address, including any incident en route to the client's location
- After drop-off: After you have been dropped off at your destination, including the Angel Driver's return journey or the Guardian Angel's departure from the drop-off location
Any incident occurring outside the active trip period (pickup to drop-off) is a matter between the relevant parties' insurance providers. Specifically:
- If the Angel Driver is involved in an incident en route to your pickup or after your drop-off, it is a matter between the driver's insurance and your vehicle's insurance (if your vehicle is involved). Angelift is not a party to these claims.
- If the Guardian Angel (driving their own vehicle) is involved in an incident at any point, it is a matter between the Guardian Angel's own insurance and the other party's insurer. Angelift is not a party to these claims.
- Angelift will provide evidence and trip data (GPS logs, trip start/end times, route data, driver details) to insurance companies and/or authorities as required to assist with any investigation or claim.
11. Platform Status
By booking through Angelift™, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Angelift™ is just the technology platform
- Angel Drivers are independent subcontractors, not Angelift employees
- Angelift™ is not liable for driver conduct, negligence, or vehicle damage

- Safety Priority: Angelift reserves the right to share information with emergency services when there is an immediate safety concern
Your use of Angelift constitutes consent to this cooperation with law enforcement.
13. Identity Verification

- Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs)

- Surveillance Devices Act 2007 (NSW) for in-trip audio recordings
For full details on how we collect, use, and protect your personal information, see our Privacy Policy.

16. Pricing, Fees & Fare Disputes Addendum
Pricing & Fares
Angelift reserves the right to change, modify, or introduce new pricing, fees, surcharges, and fare structures at any time without prior notice. Updated pricing will be reflected in the Angelift app and will apply to all bookings made after the effective date of the change. Continued use of the Angelift platform following a pricing change constitutes acceptance of the updated pricing.
Fees & Surcharges
A non-refundable Angelift Service Fee applies to every booking. This fee covers platform operations, dual-driver coordination, technology infrastructure, and payment processing. The Service Fee is retained by Angelift and does not form part of driver earnings.
The CTP (Compulsory Third Party Insurance) levy and Passenger levy are statutory charges collected by Angelift on behalf of the relevant authority. These charges are retained by Angelift for regulatory compliance purposes and do not form part of driver earnings.
An Inner-City Access fee applies to bookings where the pickup location falls within a designated CBD zone as determined by Angelift. Angelift reserves the right to adjust CBD zone boundaries and fee amounts from time to time.
Fare Disputes
Any fare dispute must be submitted via the Angelift app within 24 hours of trip completion. Angelift's determination of the correct fare is final subject to any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.
General Pricing Changes
Angelift may introduce, modify, or remove any fee, levy, surcharge, or pricing component at any time. New or modified fees will be communicated via the Angelift app. Continued use of the platform after the effective date of any pricing change constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
